You’re poor and spent money on tarot cards instead of books for school?

Wow, you’re dumb.

I looked at the Psychic Tarot, and I think they will do just fine for learning. They have all the Major Arcana, and the non-court cards from the Minor Arcana. Since the missing cards are the “court” cards (which are famously hard for the beginner to interpret) I think you can learn to do readings easily using these cards. If a book came with the deck. read it but most people find the books that come with decks to be pretty worthless so if it is confusing you, don’t bother.
Use whatever is your best means of memorization (mine was to write the cards’ meanings down in a notebook) and do small, simple spreads to start, 1-3 cards at most. Since you have access to the internet, go to learntarot.com and read additional meanings for the cards there. There is also a wealth of information at aeclectic.com. After a while you may want to get another deck, but for now these should be fine. Enjoy your journey!

Any cards are good to do reading and to “work with people” (not sure what you mean by that). You can even do readings with simple playing cards, you will just need to know how to interpret them.
The priority when you chose a deck, is to make sure the pictures “speak” to you, meaning that you will respond to each illustration in an emotional way. Try first to get familiar with your deck by playing with it, by becoming familiar with each cards. Then, slowly, you can start to do small spreads and see how it goes. Enjoy!

The Crowley deck!

The book of Thoth by Alister Crowley is the book you want to have. The Tarot Handbook by Angeles Arrien is a good book to add to your collection.

I have been studying Tarot for almost 20 years. Numbers fascinate me and I have been able to relate to them early in life. Research online you will see that the deck is full of symbols, artistically designed and is the most accurate to the tree of life.

Good luck with your studies. Don’t let anyone discourage you from learning what feels right to you.

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Using Tarot Cards safely?

Okay so I have one main questions about tarot cards and some smaller ones. I don’t want any religious freaks to post on here about how this cards are evil. I was thinking about buying a deck and learning how to use it. My mom told me that she knew somebody in high school that said that she had used a lot of things such as tarot cards and, sorry if I don’t spell this right, ouji boards. This woman said that she would have visitors at night and if she told them to go away they would turn demonic. So if I use tarot cards, am I opening myself up to these entities just like a ouji board? Also my mom told me that if I know how to use the cards correctly and wisely there shouldn’t be any problems. IS this true? If I am opening myself up to these entities, I want nothing to do with these cards. Thank you!

Answer by Max Cruise
You can use any deck of cards when learning how to shuffle and deal. This is the only useful purpose of tarot cards. Tarot cards cannot predict the future nor comment on the present. Totally random cards cannot provide ANY insight into anything in life.
Tarot cards are bogus. There is nothing demonic about randomly dealt cards. That is total nonsense. Tarot cards and ouija boards cannot open any portals to other worlds. Again, that is nonsense.
All that will happen when you use tarot cards is waste your time.

Answer by barbamatt
I read Tarot and don’t have any trouble with them. With the cards you do not call on spirits to guide you. You are the one who uses your own insight and judgement to interpret the cards.

Many cards have standard meanings and there are numerous books and literature published that lists each card meanings…not all books agree on the meaning but there are similar meanings that many agree on. You determine what it means to you.

I do not use ouiji boards because you are not controlling who answers the question. Many feel that spirits are the ones who move the pointer around…I really don’t know how they work and am a little afraid of them. But that is me personally.

Because I know where the answers come from in tarot, I am not afraid of it. It is my own psyche. I may be wrong on some days and may be right on others, but I am reading the cards that I touch and handle. I do not control the order the cards fall, because it is random, but I can read the meaning based on years of study and intuition.

They are two different things…and I just don’t trust ouiji boards…but that is my own opinion. I don’t know if they are demonic or not…I just don’t want to invite unknown spirits into my space.

tarot cards are of the devil; don’t use them.

Answer by junyto
Working the cards without a spirit to decipher them is useless.I don’t do Tarot I use the cowry shells with elegua, but I do have a friend who reads Tarot and she works with a gypsy spirit named claridad.claridad is an expert in Tarot and can tell you your past, present and future with 100% accuracy.but of course if you just wanna play with them it’s ok you don’t need any help from the spirits unless you want to use them for fortune telling.then you will need help from the spirits otherwise you’ll be nothing but a fraud.

Answer by Elizabeth
They aren’t supposed to predict the future. Ignorance of stuff propogates that you open up to evil. If you use them correctly the way they were intended it can be great for creative expression. I recommend Leonard0 Davinci Enigma deck because it gives a philosophical quest and will help you get to know yourself. they aren’t supposed to be used for fortune telling just a different perception on the clients issues.

Many of the entities I deal with are holy and I have been fine and studying it for 7 years. Follow your heart and your mom sounds great.

Tarot does not use outside influence to read…it’s your own intuition. The images on the cards have specific meanings and symbolism, however you can read into them what your intuition is telling you and that is perfectly correct to do so. You not only read the individual cards, but the entire spread as well as the relationship of the cards to each other. The best way to learn Tarot is to read the book that comes with your deck, then spend time to study each card and think about what YOU see and feel when you look at that card. Then try two cards together…what story do they tell you, what do you feel? It’s a long process but eventually reading more and more cards you will have a a good understanding of what they mean to you. You may find later as you become more adept at reading that a card may show you one thing and then in another reading that same card will show you something entirely different. It all comes from you…how you feel, what you see.

Ouji boards were developed as a game and quickly became associated with the paranormal. I honestly don’t use them and feel uncomfortable with them.

Answer by Elaine M
Tarot doesn’t draw anything like that to you, it’s a tool for your own self to use, not connecting to any demonic world.

Knowing what to fear helps a lot. A printed set of cards produced in bulk by a publisher to be used by people is not one of the things to be afraid of.

Tarot isn’t a game. Reading tarot isn’t something you just do at a slumber party and it certainly doesn’t have a quick how-to guide. Tarot takes focus and discipline or else you’re just messing around. Feel free to have your little party game with them but don’t expect to get any serious knowledge out of it. I’d suggest you just play with a magic 8ball; it’s easier and you’ll probably have more fun with it.

It would be good to study the works of Carl Jung. His breakdown of the Human psyche into the 22 archetypes of the major arcana can be quite enlightening. The Tarot is nothing more than a game played with the human mind… but it can be very interesting.

Answer by Helen
A little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Maybe just play rummy with them for now (minor arcana only).

Answer by Cher
Children shouldn’t play with things they don’t understand…There is a starter tarot deck that has the info on them, also go to amazon.com and look for beginners in Tarot, it’s important to learn before you use them but it’s not bad to sit with your friend and read up on one card at a time and learn a little about it.

Tarot cards can’t hurt you, first of all, but you will not get the result you are looking for with someone else cards. it is only when you have a fresh deck and you shuffle over and over with meditation that the cards imprint on your powers and your capabilities to detect messages. every “new” deck has a how to booklet with a short run down of what each card means and the spreads that can be used.

Celtic Cross is the most simple and easiest to get the desired result for the most questions, weather it be a love query or life direction the Celtic Cross has the when, where, and why to all.

1st card center = this is you and best describes what you are and what is important for you to know about yourself right now
2nd card across 1st = what is crossing you in your life right now
3rd is under the 1st = the root of the problem, a person or event, what brought you to this
4th is to the left of 1st = a reminder of a past event that can help you better deal with what is going on now.
5th card above the 1st = what is on your mind or even what needs to be what you are thinking of.
*with these 5 cards the client should realize that these are their cards.. If not, start over, no one should trust a future told if the past and present is not correct.
6th card right to the 1st = a future card mostly unchangeable or takes great effort to change
7th card far right bottom= what you are worried about, mostly connected to real tangible fear
8th card above 7th = direction others have suggested or will say.
9th card above 8th = issue in the future, life lesion or person important in future
10th card above 9th = most important future card and usually ties the others together
Remember that after the spread you can ask question on any of the cards dawn and pull from deck to cross the card you question, many times if makes no immediate answer may tell a time line spring summer fall or winter.

Tastes as great as ist name

Either go online or buy books on beginning Tarot. New Age bookstores also have classes to learn Tarot with hands on experience.

Remember that without the psychic message, the cards are useless and won’t even be close to being accurate. If you want to do this correctly, begin meditation every day and develop your ability to work with spirit. This is not a game. It can be fun but it’s purpose is for serious spiritual guidance.

I am a natural born medium, clairvoyant and empath, which means I see and feel things. My spiritual counseling, psychic readings and medium connections cover all areas in life, career, health, finances and relationships.

I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, two modalities I can incorporate into my consults at the consent of the client.

How I work
————–

As a Psychic Medium, I tune into energy, spirits and my guides and answer any specific questions you might have. During a reading the only information I will ask for is your name and age. Please come prepared with a list of questions you are seeking the answers to.

During a reading I do not use psychic aids or tools (cards or pendulums etc.) with the exception of automatic typing while I am channeling.

I work as a Medium channeling past loved ones, which I have found has incredibly therapeutic benefits, facilitating healing and the promotion of a wonderful sense of peace to loved ones on this side.
